What is TLT 2014?

Teaching and Learning Technology 2014 is an opportunity for instructors from all over the spectrum of education (K-12 and higher ed) to meet and share their experiences in teaching while incorporating some aspect of technology into their teaching practices. This conference is FREE!* to attend and features presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and plenty of chances to mingle with interesting educators from around the country.

*Attendees are invited to attend free of charge due to the generous vendor support and efforts of the Information Technology department at Missouri S&T.

What will I take away from TLT 2014?

In addition to your renewed energy and inspiration, you will take away connections to others with similar interests. Our goal is to make the TLT 2014 experience a core vehicle for collaboration and the generation of new ideas for using technology in teaching.

What types of sessions are included in TLT 2014?

TLT 2014 breaks down into several tracks. Interested attendees can focus on a single track or can mix it up.  The tracks are as follows:

  • Teaching with Technology – Enhancing the instructional process by including a technology component.
  • Blended Learning – Replacing some or all of the face-to-face communication in class with online tools.
  • Best Practices in Teaching Strategies – Pedagogical theories on effective teaching (with or without technology).
  • “Hands-on” Activity – Computer labs are available for hands-on presentations or demonstrations.
  • K-12 Education – Offered by popular demand, issues that are of interest to those in K-12 schools.

In addition to the basic tracks, there is also a set of presentations for an Educational Research Symposium (Friday, March 14, only), where recipients of educational research mini-grants will be presenting their findings.

See the schedule for more details of the presentations and their tracks. Some presentations are available on multiple tracks.

Is there a flyer or poster I can share with others at my institution?

Yes. We have a couple of PDFs that can be downloaded and shared. One is a single-sided PDF with just the "Save the Date" information. The other is a two-sided document with our opening plenary speaker's biographical information (taken from her website).
