SPECIAL EVENTS:

~ "BIRDS OF A FEATHER"

Birds of a Feather is a series of lunch time meetings on Thursday, March 16, held in various rooms throughout Butler-Carlton Hall. Each Birds of a Feather meeting will cover different topics.

  • BCH 120 – Clicker Faculty Learning Community

The Clicker Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is a group of instructors on campus who are heavily vested in using clickers to enhance their instruction. The Clicker FLC is an opportunity for instructors to share ideas on how to improve their students' academic performance while using clickers. All instructors are welcome to attend, even if you have never used clickers before.

  • BCH 101  K-12 Teachers

Meet with and share ideas with other K-12 teachers from around the area.

  • BCH 124  Canvas Users Group

Canvas users from Missouri S&T and other institutions can meet to discuss ideas on how to effectively use Canvas as a teaching and learning tool.

~ LIGHTNING ROUND (BCH 121)

A "Lightning Round" is a brief demonstration of several free technologies that instructors can use to enhance their instruction. Each technology will be demonstrated by an EdTech student worker. Each student worker will only have 5 minutes to present their technology. If you are unable to attend the Lightning Round session on Thursday, March 16, an encore session will be available during lunch on Friday, March 17.

~ VCC OPEN HOUSE (BCH 213)

The Video Communications Center under the Global Learning department started out in 1985 with videotapes and satellite broadcast.  Since 1999 the VCC has been delivering the classroom experience over the Internet, for many Missouri S&T’s departments in the growing field of distance education.  With the use of Webex, the VCC can deliver real time online classes and provide archives to professional students in several formats.  See how this is achieved and how we use NCast with the VCC Open House in one of our seven studio classrooms Butler-Carlton 213.

~ Vendor Fair / Reception

The Vendor Fair & Reception is an opportunity to meet with other attendees, see the various wares and products on display, sample some excellent fermented beverages from around the area, and win great door prizes! (You must be present to win the end-of-the-day door prizes...)

~ Poster Sessions

All poster sessions will be on display in the Butler-Carlton Hall atrium during the Vendor Fair & Reception.
